Founder: David Prince
David Robert Prince was born in Poland in 1912. At an early age his family moved to Vienna, Austria, where he became an apprentice jeweler. In 1939 Dave Prince left Europe for the United States. He served in the United States Army from 1942 to 1945. After he left the Army, he started a small jewelry repair shop on South Calvert Street in downtown Baltimore, Maryland. Mr. Prince worked for many retail jewelry store throughout Baltimore as a "trade" shop. Over the next 20 years his business grew from a small one man shop into a wholesale manufacturing shop employing over 20 people.
